June 2009

Two great things today.

  1. I have Friday off – and had no idea.  Thank goodness it slipped from someone’s mouth or else I would’ve seriously shown up.
  2. I got a new lens.  My Tamron 17-50mm/2.8f arrived this week and I was elated.  Dang the thing is heavy.  It’s so awesome, I can’t wait to experiment and play with it.

I will go explore this weekend and come back with great photos to share.  Promise.

First, watch this:

Several years ago when I worked at E! Entertainment as a reporter, I wasn’t allowed to have the “Top 5″ list, as said half-jokingly by my boyfriend at the time. I couldn’t have one because the problem was, I would actually have the ability to meet those on my Top 5.

I was talking to JPS last week and somehow there was a movie discussion which then went into Transformers 2 and he didn’t think Megan Fox was good looking (I know, I told him he was the first one on that list) and we went over who we thought was good looking etc and I had to share my “Top 5 list” of the men who just one look, I melt.  He understood Pierce, didn’t care or know of the rest but gave me credit for Christian Bale because he was “the only one who looked like a man.”

The next morning I decided to email him thumbnails of all of them too *giggle* I don’t think he cared for it but it sure made my morning! Thought I’d share it with you.  I’ve also met one of them on my list – Tom Welling from Smallville. I just about died on the spot as I couldn’t concentrate on anything I was asking him.  I often daydream about that moment we shared often…

top5

Who’s on your Top 5?

PS – Now I’m really going to get my job back at E!

PPS – I know Rob Pattinson didn’t make it.  While I totally have a crush on him, he’d be #6.  I’m starting to realize I do have a type.

I crashed out on the couch and fell asleep for four hours the other night. I woke up at 1:30 a.m. to an infomercial about buying homes for $295 and no monthly payments.

Then I realized I really needed to sort five loads of laundry, enter all my receipts for purchases from the past few weeks in Quicken and Quickbooks, organize client files, and tidy up. It was nearly 4 a.m. when I thought about crawling back into bed.

I curled up with Eclipse (book #3 of the Twilight series) and read two chapters before making myself doze off.

The next morning after telling Jaime about my night, our conversation went like this:

Me: I wish we didn’t have to sleep.
JLM: Yeah but then life would get boring sometimes.
Me: But think of all the things you could accomplish.
JLM: Um, ambitious!
Me: You know, vampires don’t sleep.
JLM: Alright, I see where this is going.
Me: What? I just want to be Edward’s girlfriend.

I need to finish my Eclipse book anyway, JM asked to borrow my first two on her trip – I know she’ll be done by the time she comes back.  How could you NOT get hooked?  Tee hee.

You may have read this post about Brenna Sakas and her national GoDaddy.com commercial.

Watch it here.

And it is that time again…for…random search engine terms that have brought people to my blog.

Graphic designer hair

What.  There is graphic designer hair?  What is it?  Do I have it? I must see. What did you find?  And why would you need graphic designer hair?  I am feeling left out.

What weighs 7 pounds?

I wonder what kind of answer you were hoping to find. Bowing ball? A newborn? Probably not my purse, which is exactly what I was blogging about.  Is it a riddle or a joke?  Here’s a joke for you:  Why does Snoop Doggy Dog always carry an umbrella?  Fer drizzle.

True story.

“I wish you thought I was the reason you were in the world.”

Oh my heart aches when I hear this song.  My heart aches right now knowing that people have been searching the lyrics to this song.  I so know how you feel. Tear.  It’s so beautiful, yet sad, isn’t it? *gut wrenches*

 Behr Harmonic Tan

Yeahhhh!!! (You gotta say that with a like boo-yah kinda feel).  The best paint color ever that’s in my living room. Nearly every one who first enters my home compliments the color.

 “Leslie Church” & “Katy Davis”

Two of my clients.  Watch out girls, people are googling you.  It’s a good thing I just wrote nothing but lovely things about you – as if I could ever find anything bad to write about either of you.

Leslie Church is the owner and eyelash guru applicationer (well, real title is Extreme Eyelash Extention Certified Lash Guru, ok, another lie) of Lashology. She’ll make your lashes pretty.  Make any occasion into a special one.  www.lashology.com.  Silver Spoon Studio made Lashology’s logo and business cards.  Leslie has a summer special right now, $50 off a set of lashes.  Take a peek at her blog to see her work too.

Katy Davis, oh my darling Katy who knows how to make every face pretty.  Visit her makeup website at www.couturemakeup.com and she serves brides in the Phoenix and Tucson area.  Tell her I sent you.

Kate Voegele bangs

I’m so in.  See?  And apparently I’m not the only one who wants bangs like hers – so sassy.  I know, I totally owe you a photo of what I look like with my bangs now don’t I?  They are starting to grow out a bit…

I think the entire world knows my obsession with the Twilight series…

KG: How’s the search for the perfect vampire?
Me: Still looking.  I don’t think he’s at church, do you?
KG: I guess it depends in what church you would be looking?

Watched The Proposal over the weekend with NT, JS, and BKS which was a blast.  We sat there and giggled throughout the movie and I fell in love with Ryan Reynold’s character.  What a silly, fun, witty guy that’s so laid back. I love witty men.  I should preface by saying that I already love Ryan Reynolds and am insanely jealous of Scarlett Johansson who caught him.  I also am a sucker for pretty boys.  It’s a curse.

Sandra Bullocks character was precious. I loved her Christian Louboutin shoes too.  I am dying to have a pair.  For those who are unfamiliar with Christian Louboutin shoes (though I’m not sure who wouldn’t know the signature red soled shoes…), here they are:

Want to fantasy shop with me?  Let’s do it.  Click here for StyleShop’s finds of Christian Louboutin shoes.

Look how precious these are:

Comes in black and gold too.  The Fuchsia is on sale for $405, regular $900.

I also have to say that I prefer Christian Louboutin over Manolo Blahnik’s any day.  SO agrees whereas JLM think Manolo’s are timeless.  Thoughts?

Call Trudy Hill at (480) 539-8403 and just call her before the end of June to book an appointment.  MK and I just booked Trudy for end of July for our SpirituallyShe photoshoot.  Trudy will also be shooting more photos of me afterwards which I am incredibly excited about.  I am so blessed to have such talented friends.  See her, you will love her.

I switched from Robek’s Awesome Acai drink (+ Vitabeck) to Starbuck’s Frappuccino Caramel Lite.  Everytime I ordered it, I would say something like, “Caramel Lite Frappuccino Grande, please.” And then they’d repeat it back all switched around and I felt like an idiot.  So finally, I asked how to order it correctly so I could sound like a Starbucks expert.

You start with the size first, the category it’s in (like on the flavor and add any of those details like extra shot, etc.   Of course, if you already knew this then I feel like a bigger doof as if I don’t even know how to order.

It’s pretty much the same as saying, I’d like a large Diet Pepsi.  So, my order goes: Grande Frappuccino Caramel Lite.

Now you try it.  I heart Starbucks.

I am a CPA’s worst nightmare.  Or perhaps one of their favorites since I arrive prepared.  With one day job, running two businesses, modeling/acting, and investments, I’m a complex client.  Receipts, Quickbooks, Quicken, mileage, you gotta keep track of it all.   Oh the neverending requirements to be organized.  I found this on SeeJaneWork.com, the BEST site for all things cute for business gals.

I wanted to share some of my favorite things that are on my wish list:

Leather Mileage Tracker, $12 at SeeJaneWork.com
It’s leather and has 160 page that will hold 11 trips on each page.

8 days-a-Week Planner, $16.
If this came with an extra day in the week, I am soooo sold.  I need this.  Desperately.

Pocket To-Do List, $10 at SeeJaneWork.com
With white lined perforated sheets with tick off squares next to each line.
Time to get movin’.
