This time I am not talking about my cutie beloved yorkie.
This is where I am staying in Paris. My heart is squealing and pounding oh-so-loudly.

I may never return. But don’t worry. I can still blog while living in Paris.

Congrats to MWoo, my sweet friend who just got engaged last week!
MWoo and I worked at Yes magazine at the Arizona Republic many years ago. We bonded over hating the heat and returns and sharing stories about our (well, really my) get away plan. She also always helped me bring the cart down to my car and load me up, and shared lots of laughs. She was my favorite person there.
Visit her blog to read about the proposal (and the video) and wish her congratulations! Yaaaaaay!

What makes our loved ones so precious to us? You probably jumped to all the good and impressive things first. And that’s fine. But what about those little quirks? What about those sometimes annoying habits? Maybe their imperfections are just as important.
The government of Singapore commissioned this commercial. Famed Malaysian director Yasmin Ahmad created it. She was known for making commercials with humor and heart. She died of a stroke in July. This video is a great and touching example of her work. [text from: http://videos.komando.com/2009/09/13/being-imperfect/]

Today’s devotional in my New Day New You by Joyce Meyer book.
Today, September 23 so fitting that I wanted to share.
So then . . . consider Jesus . . . [See how] faithful He was to Him Who appointed Him [Apostle and High Priest], as Moses was also faithful in the whole house [of God].
—Hebrews 3:1-2
In Hebrews 3, we are told that both Moses and Jesus were faithful. In the New Testament, the Greek word translated faithful means “to be trusted, reliable,” in other words, to be dependable. Do you know what it means for us to be dependable? It means we have to keep our word. If we tell somebody we are going to do something, then we need to do it. If we say we are going to be somewhere at a certain time, we need to be there and on time. It is amazing how many people are just not dependable. They can’t be counted on to do what they say they will do or be where they say they will be when they say they will be there. Again, it doesn’t matter how gifted a person is; if he is not faithful, God cannot use him.
And we must understand that God tests faithfulness. It is not enough to say, “Oh, yes, I’m faithful,” because God will say, “Well, let’s see.” Do you know how God tests our faithfulness? He assigns us to do something for a period of time that we don’t want to do, something that is not fun or exciting, something that may require us to submit to someone else’s authority for a while, and He’ll tell us in our heart, “Just be faithful.” Faithfulness is not just showing up day after day—it is showing up day after day with a good attitude. God will reward that kind of faithfulness. Luke 16:12 tells us that if we are faithful over what belongs to someone else, God will give us our own.

My sweet friend EG got married to JI, so that now makes her EI. I might be the only blogger who refers to my friends with initials – is this confusing? Perhaps I should use their first names but then that seems too revealing and I like the undercover initial. Anyway…I was second shooter to Erika Joy - I say her name because you need to watch out for her as she is starting her new photography business and so you will probably be hearing much more about her from me, of course.
I think down the line I’d like to offer my services as a second-shooter for a daily rate of $500. That seems to be the going price.
Here are some of the shots I took from E&J’s wedding two weeks ago. I was so blessed to be a guest and ran into many people we knew and it was so interesting as the Christian community seems very small when you start to know people through others.
The cake, made by Julie Field, from It’s All About the Cake, a Silver Spoon Studio client.

J waiting anxiously for his bride:

J’s mother standing as she waited for the bride. I loved the headdress and the Nigerian culture, it was sooo neat to witness customs from the culture, they even had a drum/chant/dance from the chapel to the reception hall.

The cute couple:

Congratulations you two! It was such an honor to be a guest to witness what the Lord has done in both of your lives, and it has been such an encouragement and inspiration to watch two Godly people live in obedience to His word and continually serve him. I am excited to see what the Lord will have in store for your new life together.

The Miss Arizona Organization is very near and dear to my heart. Having won a few local titles under the Miss America system and coming in as a state finalist, the memories I made were incredible. I also took home a few thousand in scholarship. You may also know that Silver Spoon Studio is a regular sponsor for the organization, providing the new Miss Arizona, custom designed business cards every year.
It was my pleasure to be asked if I would redraw the state pageant’s logo, giving it a little facelift and update. I worked with Bob Whitney, the original designer who designed the logo in paint I believe. With the only tools he knew how to use back then and it worked, until now when a vector logo was needed to be translated on more apparel, stationery and other items.
